I found myself working on what was a very important job with my estranged brother. I was making crucial adjustments to a GARDEN on a back patio....to the rocks no less. When done, I walked around back to see what he was doing. He was hundreds of feet up trimming what could have only been the largest tree in the world ..a pin oak. I asked him if he needed a ladder. Next thing I am running on all fours noting that a gallop uses less energy and is all in the pull from the forelegs. Arriving at the truck to find him already there, I sat back on all fours noticing how much more comfortable it was than two legs. Then thought to myself it came easily because it was the intended form. While sitting there, I smelled the scent of blood. This brought to mind a recent memory of rending flesh with teeth aside others...the taste was like swallowing raw energy.....I woke up panicking. I don't care for horror movies. And can't remember last time I watched a movie about werewolves....or spoke of....or...to my brother...
Dreams often serve as reflections of our subconscious thoughts, feelings, and experiences. In your dream, several themes and symbols stand out that offer insight into your emotional state and relationships, particularly with your brother.
Estrangement and Collaboration: Working on an important job with your estranged brother indicates a desire for reconnection. It suggests that there may be unresolved issues or feelings towards him and a longing for cooperation or understanding. The garden symbolizes growth, nurturing, and possibly the need to cultivate a relationship that has been neglected.
The Tree: Your brother’s act of trimming a massive pin oak tree could represent significant growth or achievements in his life. Trees often symbolize strength, stability, and family. The act of him being high up implies a sense of distance or elevation in relation to you, indicating feelings of admiration or perhaps envy.
Running on all fours: This part of the dream suggests a return to a more primal or instinctual state, possibly indicating a desire for freedom or a simpler, more natural way of navigating life and relationships. The comfort you felt in this position may reflect a search for authenticity or a longing to shed societal expectations.
The Scent of Blood: This sensory experience evokes raw, potentially traumatic memories. It may symbolize an encounter with deep emotions or past wounds that have not been fully addressed. The reference to "rending flesh" and the "taste of raw energy" might suggest that you're grappling with intense feelings, possibly related to survival or transformation. Blood typically signifies life, vitality, or connection to one’s roots, but it can also represent violence or sacrifice.
Panicking upon waking: This reaction indicates that the elements of the dream struck a chord with you, possibly revealing fears or anxieties you may not be fully aware of. The absence of horror influences in your life suggests that the themes in your dream may be stemming from deeper internal conflicts rather than external sources.
Overall, your dream seems to encapsulate themes of reconnection, personal growth, primal instincts, and unresolved emotions. It might be beneficial to reflect on your relationship with your brother and any lingering feelings you might have regarding past experiences. Considering speaking with a friend or therapist could help explore these emotions and lead to healing or understanding.
